Colour challenge #5

This is straight lift from Nancy Curry's book "Texture Effects in Rubber Stamping", as I was a little short of time and inspiration this week. The technique is called 'Bargello', after the embroidery technique. I also used the faux batik technique, as it's one of my favourites at the mo. Stamps from Aud design, inks are versacolour and whispers.

Colour Challenge #5 - Lovely As A Tree

This is my effort for colour challenge 5. Tried a new technique with Oil pastels that I found on Trish Bees blog.

Stamp is from a Stampin Up set called 'Lovely As A Tree' and is coloured with Prisma pencils and Gamsol.

Another enjoyable challenge Krisy - thanks!

Colour Challenge #5

Not sure about this one at all. I matched the turquoise to an Iranian turquoise necklace I have. I tried to recreate the effect of the black seams running through the stones. I found this colour combo incredibly hard but thanks Kristy for making me think outside my very small box!

Colour Challenge #5 - Turquoise, Amber & Jade

Nice, light and summery! Perfect for this time of year! The jade I am referring to is the gem stone colour, not the 80's colour This means it can be that lovely milky colour green or the deep green, whichever you prefer!

Post your picture here and make sure that you add your name and pick the Colour Challenge #5 label from the Labels list so that we can see all of the entries in one place! Then place a link in the thread over at UK Stampers.

Remember you have a week to post something (it can be literally anything, not just cards) and then I will change the colour combo next Sunday.

Have FUN!

Following on from Kristy's Post - National Stamping Day

Just to let you all know that UK STampers and Stamp Galaxy will also be sponsoring a couple of prizes - for the best posts by our Members' on this blog that weekend.

The Galaxy are also planning some special offers on the day too!

Worldwide Stamping Weekend

The Stamping board over at Two Peas in a Bucket have decided that we need an Annual Stamping event to rival National Scrapbooking Day/Month. So, we've formed a co-operative and are creating and hosting 'Worldwise Stamping Weekend' ourselves!

I am going to contribute by hosting 2 classes over the weekend, and our good friends at Tanda Stamps & Aud Design have both agreed to donate a prize for each class. The idea is that after each class, the participants will make something using the techniques they have learnt and will post a picture of the item on the 2Ps Gallery. I will then randomly select a winner from each class and will award one of the prizes.

The prizes are really worth having, so I hope that you find a little time over the weekend of the 23/24 June to visit the Two Peas Message Board & Gallery to take part in one of the classes to be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes.

I will be publishing the 'Ingredients' for each class both here on the Cyber blog and on my blog and also on the 2Ps Message Board, 2 weeks before the event, so that you will have time to do any shopping required. The events are 'Stamp Company Neutral' so you don't have to worry about using a particular company's stamps in order to take part.

It should be fun!

A Couple of Aud Design Cards

Despite suffering from flu this weekend, I seem to be on a bit of a creative mission! I have managed to complete 4 projects and start a couple more! Here are two Aud Design Cards I have completed for her Inspiration Blog. You can buy the stamps used in these cards at http://www.stampgalaxy.co.uk/catalog/

Colour Challenge #4 - Amethyst, Garnet and Amber

My effort for Colour Challenge 4. When I thought of these colours together I kept thinking of Indian Elephants so that is what I went with with- the Tanda Stamp India Set and three Ecoline inks that were closest in colour.

Colour Challenge #4

I managed to combine this weeks Wednesday Stamper theme of Fleur De Lys with this weeks colour challenge! The 'Orange' on the background, isn't orange at all in real life, it's definitely 'amber'- don't you just love scanners? The weird thing is that all the other colours are actually fine and are pretty accurate! Stamps are mainly by Non-Sequitur

UK STamper Colour Challenge #4

after a first abortive attempt at this challenge, this is my entry.

Details of stamps, etc. can be found here,

Colour Challenge no 4

Garnet was a tricky one - wild plum was the closest I could get.

Colour Challenge #3

This is my (very) late entry for my own Colour Challenge. Sadly it's a condolence card for a friend who recently lost her father. The stamps are by http://www.tandastamps.com/acatalog/index.html and Hero Arts

Colour Challenge #4 - Amethyst, Garnet & Amber

Sorry, a day late this week. It was because I have been away since Friday morning visiting friends down South and I only got back at Midnight last night.

Thanks to everyone who took part last week, some lovely work (I really must catch up and do mine some time!)

So for this week it is Amethyst, Garnet & Amber. A tricky combo I think, but nice rich, deep colours!

Have fun, and don't forget to upload and label your pictures here for all of us to see!

Define Your Space Challenge

I liked this challenge and I love playing with paper so this helps. This is made of 2 pieces of chipboard and an ice lolly stick - not as much stamping as I would have liked but the paper didn't seem to need a lot. There is a stamped message saying Life is short - do what you love. TFL

Wedding Acceptance

details of supplies, etc. can be found here .

Colour challenge #3

Here's my card for this week's colour challenge. The background is H2Os, colour Persimmon, the stamped images are by Blade Rubber, Paperartsy, Rubadubadoo, and something I got from a little stall at Ally Pally! The blue dragon is made with shrink plastic and coloured with Sakura Glaze pens. This is my first try at doing collage, it was hard work to get a nice placement, I should have just bought a collage stamp!

Wednesday Stamper - Turquoise

This is my effort for this week's Wednesday Stamper. It's a 6 x 6 card.

Details of stamps used, etc., are on my blog

Thank you card - Colour Challenge #3

quick thank you card for this week's colour challenge.
Stamps: Blue Cardigan Mother & Daugher sheet for the main image and the matt behind the main image. Aud's Hearts & Babies Sheet for the small tags.
Inks, etc: Starry, Starry Night Whispers Dye Ink and Black Pearlidoodles.

Acetate Overlay Card & Colour Challenge #3

I am a bit more organised this week and have managed Kristy's Colour Challenge #3 already. I have made an Acetate overlay card. The scanner has lost some of the richness of the colours and the Ivory seems to have faded out a bit and because of the acetate my camera hated it! Stamps are from the Tanda Stamp Far East set 3 and I have coloured the image and background cards with Ecoline inks.

Cheers

Brayergirl's Colour Challenge #3 - Ivory, Onyx, Carnelian & Lapis Lazuli

The challenge has already been posted on UK STampers, but for those of you are not already Members the details of the challenge are:

"I was leafing through an old copy of Somerset Studio from 2003 and I came across their 'With one palette' article. Funnily enough, the colours were all 'gemstones' if you don't count the Ivory!

For the purposes of this weeks challenge though, I am keeping the Ivory in as it is (sadly) used for jewellery."

Colour Challenge #3

This is my attempt. Used images and papers from an oriental cd. Thought the colours were just right. The image is printed onto photopaper to make it a bit brighter. Used black and ivory satin type papers!

Colour Challenge #2 - Play layout

this is my other contribution for last week's colour challenge.
Details of supplies used are here.

Colour Challenge #2

Stamps: Aud's Design (Cat & House sheet).

Inks: Starry, Starry Night Whispers Dye Ink. Also used Sakura Gelly Roll in Green and Clear.

60th Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for a family friend. It's their Birthday next weekend and I will be heading South for the Birthday party. This means I have a short week next week as I have Friday off to travel down as the Party is on Saturday. So a three day working week next week- I could get used to that!

Stamps: All Aud Design
Inks: Versamagic in Mediterranean Olive, Versamark.
Other Items: Gold EP, Coloured pencils, Quickutz letters in Marisa and Vixen fonts. Patterned papers by Daisy D's.

Colour Challenge #2

And this is my effort! Love the colours I got to work with ;o) The clock stamp is from Collage Stuff and coloured with Colorbox liquid chalks, as is the "celebrate" which is from Stampin Up. The other words are from Invoke Arts in Versamark and then chalked over with Pebbles Inc shimmer chalks.

Colour challenge #2

This is this week's effort for the colour challenge. The colours are gorgeous, and I tried something a bit more graphic this week. I need to practice with my H2Os, though, as I haven't got the knack of getting a lovely smooth finish yet. Stamp by Paperartsy, colours used are Sky blue and Key lime H2os, plus royal blue versacolour, and patterned paper by flair design.

Lady Peacock

Here is my effort for Brayergirl's colour challenge #2. Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli and Peridot - what fabulous colours they are. This card is predominantly Ecoline Inks and very simple stamping. I used three different stamps - a feather from Tanda Stamps on the larger background, a peacock feather stamp from Pedlars Pack for the inner square and the lady is a Rubbadubbadoo image.

Once again I enjoyed getting all inked up and am looking forward to the next one!

Cheers

Tutankhamun Card - Colour Challenge #2

By strange co-incidence my Colour Challenge here at UK Stampers this week is Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise & Peridot this week. These gem stones (especially the Turquoise and Lapis) were used by the Egyptians in their jewellery so I was able to combine my colour challenge with the theme over at Wednesday Stamper this week which is Egypt!

Stamps: Tanda Stamps (Egyptian stamps) Judikins ( hieroglyphics & marble stamp)

Altered Notebook

I picked up a plain kraft notebook froom Paperchase last night, and took 5 minutes out last night to alter it. This is the view of the reverse.

Stamps used: Paper Artsy Kids Plate 2

Inks: Whispers Dye Inks (Savoy Green & Starry Starry Night), Timber Brown StazOn and Azurite Fluid Chalk Ink.

Ribbon from own stash.

I just need to pop a label with Lydia's name over the paperchase bit at the back.

I used different images for the fornt, and will post that later.

Gnome Sweet Home

Sometimes you get those little free stamps as part of an order that you just don't know what you are going to do with. This little Gnome stamp was just such a stamp. It was included in an order from 100 Proof Press. Luckily Aud's stamps provided the perfect solution - a Gnome House!

Tuesday, 1 May 2007

Aud's new stamps finally arrived on Monday so I cut them all out last night and tonight I decided to have a little play. I had been planning this card ever since I saw what the new stamps would look like! I think it makes a cute New Home card!
