I is for Icon

Here is my contribution for the week - the iconic film that is Gone with the Wind, the stamp is from the Stampsmith.

I is for Icon

The only bit of stamping on my tag is the dotty circles to make the background. The definition for icon is taken from Wiki, printed onto a transparency. The religious icon was too dominant, so my son suggested layering vellum over it. The vellum is glued to the transparency so the icon can be revealed when the transparency layer is moved. The sphinx under the text was a mistake! I glued the wrong side in the xyron sticker maker - I had meant it to go on top as a detail and to hide the glue for the vellum... so I added the Da Vinci man too as I really wanted some icon on top of the text. I inked the edges AFTER fixing the transparency with the eyelet... would have been easier to do it first... but this tag evolved as it was created so I'm quite happy with it now - may need to find a big I or hand cut one to add to the front somewhere.

I for Icon

Well this is my Icon! I combined her with an iconic style too!

Sunday challenge No. 41

mine is an eye con (false eyelashes) you can't really see the stamping as it is yellow on dilute magenta and after the crackle accents went on the yellow almost disappeared.

N for Numbers

Yes I know I am late with this but I was away at the weekend! Just a simple one this time.

There I was fiddling about with stuff for a workshop and I realised that this very image would make the tag; The I for Icon really had me thinking! Inkadinkado & Hero Arts stamps.

Well, I didnt have to do alot here - Mr Dali has done it all for me! I adore Dali's work and have always thought this 'medidative rose' to be iconic.

Sunday Challenge 41

Here is my offering this week - makes a change!

Image is a free picture (actually a Scandinavian Christmas card!), and I've used Distress Inks, LLB mask and stamps, copper Glimmer mist, stazon and TSS metal. It really does say Icon, but the way the metal has sanded back makes it look like it says Igon!!!!

Sunday Challenge 41

I used distress inks, alcohol inks, crackle paint and grungeboard on this - just some of Sir Tim's iconic stuff!!

I is for Icon by Lorraine

I used a St Matilde Stampington stamp on one of my painted backgrounds and added a stamped I for invocation. So it could be invocation for a saint, icon or art muse?

'I' for Icon

Used worn lipstick, peeled paint & spiced marmalade distress inks (read into that what you will).

my tag for this challenge - ellief

Sunday challenge 40 - N is for numbers

A very simple tag - crumpled and inked tag, stamped with the Tim Holtz number stamp (I didn't iron my tag well enough so it's a bit more 'worn' looking than intended). The N is a clear tile with Timmy inks, glued over white glossy card with the N stamped on.

Sunday Challenge #39 - B is for Birds

Hi Peeps

I have made a tag from Grungepaper for my entry....I used Grungeboard shapes as embellishments and added a few bits from the Idea-ology range which I coloured to match in with the scheme using gold Krylon pen.

The background colours were created using Distress Inks; Fired Brick, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Walnut Stain. I used one of the new acrylic cling stamps from Tim Holtz and stamped onto the Grungeboard...but you can't really see this cos I then covered it all with Distress Stickles LOL

Thanks for looking and for a great challenge...looking forward to the next one!

B for Bird - by Julia Dunnit

Gosh, i've finally committed! Here's my take for the B tag, destined to go on a card for a friend who is nick-named 'bird'. Have been enjoying all of your tags for ages...love the huge variety of styles and ideas and techniques.

B is for Bird by Lorraine

I used a new stamp that I bought at the weekend of a bird by The Artistic Stamper. It was such a simple design that it was ideal to embroider over. I have made the B out of blue utee..I mixed some alcohol ink with clear utee to get this blue (dont mix it in the melt pot).

Monday 11 May 2009

B for Bird

I was making a background for Sid's blue inchie swap & thought I'd use some for the challenge as well. So here's my oriental blue bird with brads & a bamboo effect background.
