Another Spin & Splash creation. This time the background was done on silver Mirri Board and incorporated some metallic Inks also. The finish on the silver Mirri is quite reflective and looks completely different to the gloss cards.
I matted the 4x4 inch background on maroon cardstock and trimmed to size. I then threaded a short length of 5mm satin ribbon through a cork 'buckle' and applied this to the base of the matt by wrapping the ends of the ribbon behind the background and securing with double sided tape. This was positioned so that a piece of vellum printed with the words 'Dare To Dream' could be threaded beneath the ribbon and secured vertically on the reverse of the front of the card with DS tape. The card itself was made from a piece of pearlescent pink cardstock which was trimmed to size and scored.

Spin 'n' Splash Card
I Used a 4x4 inch background rounded the corners and applied an image from Crafty Individuals with tacky glue and allowed this to dry. Then I matted this onto plain mauve & then pearlescent pink cardstock using DS tape. This was then applied to a 5x5 inch card made from pearlescent purple card and the word 'Dream' applied with black and gold epoxy stickers.
Colour Challenge #2 - Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli & Peridot
I think I will start a theme for the next few Colour Challenges.
I thought it might be nice if we took our inspiration from Gemstones for the next few weeks, so it's blues and greens this week to start us off.
If you are not sure what these Gemstones look like, maybe it's a good opportunity to try out Google or Wikipedia and learn a little more about the earth's harvest.
UK STamper Members' post your picture here and make sure that you add your name in the label section along with the Colour Challenge #2 label from the Labels list so that we can see all of the entries in one place!
If you are not currently a Member, then just post a link in the comments to where you have your work uploaded, and will will add for you. Alternatively, you can email us (link the side bar with your link details, and we will add).
Remember you have a week to post something (it can be literally anything, not just cards) and then I will change the colour combo next Sunday.
Have FUN!

Colour Challenge #1 - A Red Rose by Anntaurus
Sorry for the lateness - have been quite unwell for over a week. I think I just managed it before Kristy puts the next one out. I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge - I adore colour and messing around with it so I am delighted that these challenges have begun. Exact details of materials etc can be found on my blog link.
Looking forward to the next one!

More Shore Cliff with more Whispers Dye Inks
made with the Shore Cliff bolio and more colours of Whispers Dye Inks. The instructions of making this card are here.
Obviously, I had to check out different colours in the interest of stamping science, and I have to say I really am quite impressed with them. The card too, was marvellous to stamp on.

Paisley Bird ATC's
I seem to be going through a bit of a Psychedelic Hippy phase at the moment. Not sure what's brought it on, maybe it was some dodgy cheese. :o) I made these two ATC's for a 2:2 swap over at the Tanda Stamps Craft Forum, so naturally the background is made using a couple of the Tanda Stamps Paisley stamps from their Paisley set. For the Background, I used the watercolour Faux Batik technique.

ARTCALL REMINDER
now that the UK STampers' Blog is up and running, I thought I would just take a few minutes to remind you all that there is currently an artcall out for the Newsletter.
Send your jpeg entries to the UK STampers email address (found in the side bar), together with a supplies list and brief description of how you made it.
Please don't send anything that has been published already in mags and blogs etc.
The theme this time is quite broad "Summer" with any kind of project submitted - obviously, it has to have stamping on it.
We are also on the look out for contributors for workshop or project articles for future issues.
The closing date is 30th April, but we may extend this by a few days.

Display your Inchies
Got your collection of Inchies & don't know what to do with them?
Here is an altered frame (really cheap £1), that I decorated with Ranger Alcohol Ink Mixatives in Gold, Silver & Copper. I have put in 24 Inchies(only because of the size of the frame). I used low tack repositionable glue to attach the Inchies so as not to damage them. Anyone else done any type of Inchie display?

Kimono ATC
quick ATC made with Hero Arts "K" clear set of stamps.
Making details are on my Stampgalaxy.blogspot.com.
I'm not generally a fan of polymer stamps, but the Hero Arts ones are extremely good quality, stamp out beautifully and have fabulous images.
Colour Challenge #1 - Red, White and Green
OK, here goes: the first Colour Challenge on the UK Stampers board! To start off, we are going to use Red, White & Green, however, one little rule - no Christmas cards. This is not a colour combination that we tend to use very much so that is why I thought it was a nice challenge to start with! Think Italian flag, Portuguese flag, Cherries, houses, blood (if you want to go Gothic) scenery, Football team colours, Folk Art, Clowns, etc. I am sure that you can think of far more than just these ideas. You can use other colours in your composition, but the predominant colours must be Red, White & Green.
Post your picture here and make sure that you add your name and pick the Colour Challenge #1 label from the Labels list below so that we can see all of the entries in one place!
Good Luck & have FUN!

Name Badge Album Challenge
a lot of us at UK STampers subscribe to crafttv.com, and were enthralled with the Name Badge Album webisode that was published last week.
I know that some Members have not been that keen on the Paris Challenge, so here's an alternative - create a name badge album, or other piece of artwork. Any subject is OK, but just make sure you use at least one stamp.
Don't forget when you upload to include your username label, and if you are not a member then post a link in the comments to your effort.

Challenge - The Louvre (Iles des Paris)
It's a while since we posted a Challenge, so as I've just returned from a glorious few days in Paris....I'd love to see some artwork with the working title "The Louvre" or "Iles des Paris".
ADDED: Don't be frightened by this, as it's just a working title, just use it as a spring board, and let your imagination fly. There are great works of art in the Louvre, and also the most famous landmark in Paris is on a small piece of land called the Iles des Paris! You could also take a royal route, or impressionism as your inspiration.
UK STamper Members, upload here. Don't forget to add your username label at the bottom.
If you are not a member of UK STampers, then leave a comment with a link....actually, why haven't you jointed yet? Click on UK STampers forum link in the side bar, and joint our growing band.

A new use for 'Cut n' Dry'
I discovered a new use for Ranger 'Cut n' Dry'. To create the reverse image of the Grecian lady, I stamped on the back of a large piece of Cut n' Dry, and then quickly stamped the Cut n' Dry onto some watercolour card stock and gold embossed the image. It worked surprisingly well, although I'm not too sure how it would work with normal ink instead of Versamark. Try it, you may be pleasantly surprised!
