R for Rust

Sorry I am late with this, I didn't get chance to upload last week. The background is alcohol inks, with the corner, flower and 'rust' stamped with foam stamps using distress ink. The wire holding the key (found in the back of the kitchen drawer - the resting place for all sorts of bits of junk) was coloured using alcohol inks.

Sunday Challenge 36

Thursday, 23 April 2009

Here is my tag for challenge 36. The photo is of my brother who shares his birthday with the queen, which happened to be this week, the idea being that a person is 'King for a day' on their birthday. The background is a Tim Holtz technique, made with distress inks rubbed onto a craft sheet and misted with water, then the tag laid on top to pick up the ink
Here is my 'King' of the faeries Finnbheara. Sorry photo is a bit squint.

Chicken Licken

Oops a bit late but this is my Rust effort!

Sunday Challenge No 35

Here is my tag for this weeks challenge. Instructions on my blog tomorrow as usual.

Sunday Challenge No 35

I made my tag with the lovely alcohol inks - started with butterscotch, lettuce and pesto, then went over with RUST and gold mixative (not very good with the mixatives, it came out rather blobby!) The embossing powder used on the key and the bottom left corner is called 'Rust Tapestry'.

Sunday challenge no 35

Another one who has been rummaging in the garage. I dont know why it looks so blurry, think its the scanner because of the lumps and bumps.

Sunday Challenge 35

Here's my rusty offering

'R' tag

This week I wanted to do bright colours but 'Rust' just said faded & vintage to me. I used rust AI on the base tag which is marbled with gold & copper. The frame also has rust AI with verdigris EP. The image is clearly visible from certain angles & has crackle glaze over it. I added red roses & ribbon for a bit of colour.

I'm on the ball this week as I'm away at the weekend. Embellishments courtesy of DH's garage.

New Challenge - A for Alcohol Inks

Here's my effort for "A". Patty

Sunday challenge No.34

My 'a' is for astral. The capital 'a' is dry embossed then I brushed on colour through the stencil to make it stand out more.

A is for Art

Here is my first tag for the challenge. I am a beginner to rubber stamping so am hoping to use these tags to practice new techniques. For this tag I sponged the background with distress ink and heat embossed the leaves, unfortunately the top leaves didn't turn out so well so I need lots of practice.
