ATC Background - Step by Step

for anyone interested in how this background for an ATC was put together, you can get a step by step here.

Altered Notebook

I picked up a plain kraft notebook froom Paperchase last night, and took 5 minutes out last night to alter it. This is the view of the reverse.

Stamps used: Paper Artsy Kids Plate 2

Inks: Whispers Dye Inks (Savoy Green & Starry Starry Night), Timber Brown StazOn and Azurite Fluid Chalk Ink.

Ribbon from own stash.

I just need to pop a label with Lydia's name over the paperchase bit at the back.


I used different images for the fornt, and will post that later.

Mother's Day Card (No. 2)

Really quick card (under 10 minutes). Ready made card blank stamped with Hero Arts Wavy Graphic Border stamps in Vilolet Versacolour and Wisteria Fluid Chalk ink.Stamped onto left over glossy cardstock which had been DTP'd with black Stazon and then heat embossed several layers of clear EP to create the tiny tile (Blue Cardigan Mother's Day Sheet), cut out and added to card blank.

Tied green organza ribbon round spine.

Life is beautiful

and so is my darling Mother.........really super quick Mother's Day card for her.
Central Lily image is by Blue Cardigan (Mothers Day Sheet) stamped on cream card in Black Stazon, then several coats of clear EP over the top. Matted on to an Ecoline (580 & 416) background, and then onto blue vellum and tied round a piece of cream ric rak.
"Life is Beautiful" quote is by Magenta, and this was stamped in versamark on to the same cream cardstock and embossed with Galactic Gold EP. I then coloured it with Majestic Blue (652) H20, cut out and then edged with Violet Versacolour ink.
The card blank was stamped with Savvy Dahlia (449c) in a mixture of Violet Versacolour and Azurite chalk ink.

Faberge Inspired Card

Covered a card blank with Provocraft "Illuminations" paper, which I inked around the edges with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

Painted the three chipboard flowers with Jo Sonja's paint, and then stamped with French Manuscript (Oasis) and Vine Background (Savvy), covered with Versamark and Kalidescope Embossing Power (3 times). Added jewels to the centre of the flowers, and also white glass beads on the two green ones and added to the card.

Two holes were made on spine of card with BG Notch & Die, and the green/silver organza ribbon tied in a bow.

Actually somebody remarked that it had probably taken ages to do, but in reality it is a very quick and simple make, all in all about 15 minutes.

A'tissue a'tissue - Stage 7

then I used my new Crop a dile to make 7 holes along the bottom, and two at the top.

Attached green ribbon from the top to hang it up, and Junkitz Ringz (Banana) to the bottom to hang off some shell hearts and circles.

Then I ran a bead of Glossy Accents around and between the holes at the bottom, and sprinkled on some micro beads.

I have actually done two clips - one with "AM" and the other with "PM" for her to clip on when she needs to let us know when we need to feed the fish for her.

A'tissue a'tissue - Stage 6

then stamped out enough scrabble letter images on tissue to spell out "Feed us", coloured them in and collaged them on to the background.

A'tissue a'tissue - Stage 5

now you need to take your collage medium (in my case Golden Gel), and apply a small amount to the background where you will be placing your cut out image.

then carefully add some to the reverse side of your image.

Place the image on to the background, and apply further Golden Gel over the top, ensuring that you seal down all edges of the image.

A'tissue a'tissue - Stage 4

again, this one is in negative mode, so it looks blue and pink, but actually it's in greens and yellows.

This is the prepared Bazzill Chip background, stamped up with the Clarity Stamps Bubbles and the leafy stamp from the Hero Arts Wavy Graphic Borders set (LL028).

You will be able to see a better image for colour in a minute, as I'm just about to take some more pictrues, with my camera. LOL!

A'tissue a tissue - Stage 3

sorry, horrible picture, I had to borrower Rob's camera, and he'd got it in negative mode.

Anyhoo, this is them cut out.

A'tissue a'tissue - Stage 2....

Now get your Aquaflo brush and Lyra watercolours.

Establish a good flow of water through you brush, so that the tip is wet, and touch it into the Lyra and colour straight on to the tissue paper. The less Lyra you pick up, the lighter your image will be.

You can either let it dry naturally, or blast it with your heat gun quickly.

Closely cut out the image.

Take a piece of tissue, and stamp on it using StazOn or another waterproof ink.
