G for Graffiti Challenge 50

This week's challenge gave me a lot to think about and I found it much harder than last week's. My tag is I hope in the true spirit of graffiti as I see it.

Challenge Number 50 - Graffiti

As soon as I saw the title of this weeks challenge - I felt an overwhelming urge to 'mess up' a stamp by Tim Holtz by using Graffiti!

It's a lovely stamp and I have used it 'correctly' on another tag on my blog, but I just felt compelled to 'graffiti-ize' it as the 'untouched' wording summed up exactly what the art of Graffiti is!

True to TH's technique, I have scrunched up a tag, and grungy coloured it using inks

well, Im a teeny bit late... but the new letter wasnt up when I started!

I couldnt resist using the caught in crystal background I made last week following the class on Sid's blog. I am so pleased with it, I was just WAITING for something to stamp on it!

F is for Face

Usual distress ink background (I'm hooked on these) but with Tim Holtz masks to add detail. The children's rhyme is printed on acetate, with chipboard letter on top. The stamped image is one I received in a swap ages ago, mounted on brown card punched with a corner punch to make the swirly corner. The flower started off cream, but has been inked and stamped to match the tag.

... and I just found time to make my tag before the time ran out today! below the large T is a plastic watch face used to make a mini shaker with watch bits inside. I see lots of us have the same watch stamps! :lol: Background is inked with TH distress inkpads and the blue splotches are made with Ancient page re-inker ink mixed with water in a spritzer bottle.

When I saw this weeks challenge I immediately thought of Tom Jones and It's not unusual and try as I might I can't move away from this idea. So I gave in and went with it. Here's my tag , I haven't played for a while as I've had other commitments but I really enjoyed it.

I've brayered the background with ariondack ink, raspberry and citrus, stamps are Blonde moments and a scrabble letter, words are printed from my computer and sponged.

Stampbord Fridge Magnet Swap

I have just hosted my first swap on the UK Stampers forum. The swap was for a stampbord fridge magnet swap and was as straightforward as it sounds. I drew names out of a box to designate the magnets to the crafters and have just posted all of them. The quality of the work was really high. Everyone had taken the time to work with such care and the results were gorgeous, pretty and imaginative. I recieved gifts from lots of people as a thank you for hosting the swap. This was totally unexpected and very kind. Thank you all for making my first swap so enjoyable, Loulabelle.
